The bachelor's and master's degree programs at The College of St. Scholastica are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
100 percent of employers surveyed in 2014 indicate that the quality of program graduates have met their expectations.
Note: Meeting minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission.
All prerequisites must be completed before beginning the M.S. HIM program. All courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
If you need any or all prerequisite courses, you have the option of taking them at St. Scholastica or another college. One benefit of taking them at CSS is that our BIO 2002 covers three of the prerequisites (Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Medical Terminology) in one combined, four-credit course.
To start as a prerequisite seeking student, please submit a full application for admission into the program. If admitted, you will begin with prerequisite courses that you need. Please note that financial aid for prerequisites is calculated as undergraduate financial aid, and you need to enroll in at least 6 credits per semester for undergraduate part-time status. If you need all 9 prerequisite credits, it may be necessary to take all prerequisite courses in the first semester in order to use financial aid.
Transcripts required: B.A./B.S. transcript showing degree conferred, any post-baccalaureate transcript, and any transcript with pre-requisite courses.
Request official transcripts for receipt on or before the application deadline.
Must be in the original sealed envelope from the school, or from a certified electronic official transcript provider such as Parchment, Docufide, Scrip Safe, National Clearinghouse or other certified, online transcript service.
