Admissions Information | M.S. Chemistry

The following requirements must be met in order for an applicant to be considered for admittance into the program:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field
  • A transcript evaluation will be required if related field
• Letter of recommendation from a science-related mentor
• 1-page personal statement describing the candidate’s interest in the field
• Official undergraduate transcript from all institutions

Required prerequisites: 2 semesters of organic chemistry, 2 semesters of physics, 2 semesters of calculus

A science GPA of 2.8 is strongly suggested.

Note: Meeting minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission.

Please order the following official transcripts:

• Bachelor's degree transcript showing degree conferred
• Any post-baccalaureate transcript
• Any transcript with pre-requisite coursework
• International transcripts: Please see the International Admissions page for additional requirements.

Transcripts must be received on or before the application deadline. Order early in the application process!

Email official transcripts to transcripts@css.edu. Electronic transcripts must be from a certified electronic official transcript provider such as Parchment, Docufide, Scrip Safe, National Clearinghouse or other certified, online transcript services.

Mailed transcripts must be in the original sealed envelope from the school. Mail to:

1. Complete the Online Application.
2. As part of the online application, upload a completed Master of Science in Chemistry essay. Write a 500-word essay to describe your experiences in the project environment, discuss your career plans and how you plan to use this degree to fulfill your career goals, and explain why you decided to apply for the Master of Science in Chemistry at The College of St. Scholastica.
3. Upon receipt of all application materials, the application packet will be forwarded to the Admissions Committee for review and the admissions decision.

After you are notified a decision has been made regarding your application, log into your application portal, view your decision letter, and click "Reply to Offer".

You may be eligible to receive transfer credits for coursework you’ve completed. See our Graduate Transfer Credit Policy for more information and complete a  Credit Transfer Application Form. This form can be completed and provided to your program advisor and/or program department contact.
