Non-Traditional and Traditional Student Admission Criteria Track (N-TACT)

N-TACT is a criterion-based early admission program into the graduate Master of Social Work (MSW) program. The program is available for committed undergraduate social work students at The College of St. Scholastica (CSS).

A limited number of CSS students who declare their intent to pursue a MSW will be guaranteed admission to the program after completing an undergraduate social work degree, if they meet the plan criteria.

N-TACT criteria

Students will need to:

  • Apply to the N-TACT program with the Graduate Admissions office after formal admission into the Social Work program. This could be as early as during the first year for traditional students, or when first admitted to CSS as a transfer student. Qualified applicants will be accepted into the N-TACT program until a limited number of seats are filled.
  • Complete all prerequisite courses for the Social Work Advanced Standing Master's program with an overall grade point average of 3.0 and with a grade of “C” or better in all prerequisite courses.
  • Attend N-TACT advising session each semester.
  • Submit the completed MSW application in the fall of the senior year. See the MSW program admission requirements.

Students who do not meet all criteria will be removed from the N-TACT program, but may still apply to the Master of Social Work program with the regular applicant pool.

Benefits to the applicant include guaranteed admission into the graduate program, continuous access and interaction with MSW program faculty members, and exemption from the need for additional references or an application interview for graduate admission.
