Tell us about the work you do: I am the technology director for the Cannon Falls School District. I am also active or hold an office in SEMNET, SEMTEC, Zumbrota Area Arts Council and St. Paul's Catholic Church.
A source of pride in your life: My family is my greatest source of pride; my husband Jeff, children Cara and Patrick, their spouses and of course my beautiful Grandchildren. My son Ryan passed away at the age of 20 and has greatly influenced and shaped all of us.
Best St. Scholastica memory: I worked for Sister Eulalie in the bookstore and mailroom. She would bring me to the Priory in the summer through the tunnel and invite me to share a meal with all of the Sisters.
Significant influences: Sister Gemma had great influence on my life and my life choices. She impressed on me that the most important thing in life is to love - she was so right!
Greatest professional moment: I was voted 2009-2010 "Teacher of the Year" by my colleagues.
Tell us something interesting about your life: My son Patrick and I owned and operated a BWCA Canoe outfitters and guide service for seven years. My husband and I hosted AFS teachers and students from China, Mexico and Botswana. We often step in if another host family needs a weekend off. I also played in an Irish band for 12 years.
Family ties: Jeff, my husband of 37 years, is also a St. Scholastica graduate.
Further education: I have a Master of Education from St. Scholastica and attended Winona State to get my elementary keyboarding and computer applications certificate. I also have attended numerous online training classes.
Philosophy: Love is the only thing that matters.
Impact of the Benedictine values: Because of the Benedictine values, I was privileged to come to know I actively and consciously embrace, follow and use them to help shape and lead my life.
