Avian Flu presentationThe Pandemic Response Team, part of the Campus Emergency Management Team , has been working to develop the appropriate measures to be taken during a potential pandemic influenza outbreak.

The Pandemic Response Team will provide regular updates regarding pandemic response planning activities to the St. Scholastica community through this Web site.

Flu season in the United States usually ranges from November through March, and health officials are concerned because of the threat of a worldwide influenza pandemic possibly developing from the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) circulating around the world. 

Preventive Conduct

Take the following actions to help prevent Influenza (Flu) infection locally. 
  • Maintain practice of personal and environmental hygiene, such as frequent hand washing.
  • Consult you doctor if you feel ill, especially when you run a fever.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover you cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
