Email can be a security risk. Never open an attachment you weren’t expecting.
Also, never email confidential data off campus. If you do have to email secure or highly confidential data off campus on a routine basis, contact IT for assistance.
If you receive your CSS email on your phone keep your mobile device secure with a password and encryption.
Pay particular attention when responding to email within nested conversations in gmail. It is very easy to respond to the wrong person with unintended consequences.
Do not give out your css email address when you sign up for things online
Create an email account just for signing up for things online (hotmail or yahoo)
If you get a spam email and it has a link at the bottom to remove your address from the list, do NOT click the link as it will confirm you are an active account and you will get even more spam!
