The Piano Program at The College of St. Scholastica offers a B.A. in Music with a concentration in piano. The program suits pianists with a variety of career goals and is versatile enough to include students who wish to focus on solo performance, collaborative piano, or piano pedagogy. Audition Requirements: Piano Performance
Applicants to The College of St. Scholastica seeking to major in music with an emphasis in piano performance are required to audition during one of the Sister Monica Laughlin Music Scholarship audition days preceding their enrollment as a music major.*
Please adhere to the following repertoire guidelines. Every applicant must perform repertoire from two of the three categories listed below. You may elect to offer more pieces if you wish.
All repertoire must be memorized.
• A contrapuntal work or group of works by Johann Sebastian Bach
• One work from the Classical period by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, or Schubert (single movements from sonatas are acceptable)
• One work from the Romantic, Impressionist, or Modern eras

Scholarships for Piano Majors
All applicants to the music major with an emphasis in piano performance are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships based upon their audition. Auditions are held during the Music Department's designated Sister Monica Laughlin Music Scholarship audition days.
