String Orchestra

String Orchestra

String Orchestra is open to students in all majors who play violin, viola, cello, or bass. If you have played a string instrument in your high school orchestra, or have equivalent skills, you are welcome to join. String Orchestra is directed by Dr. Michael Buck and rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:40 pm in Mitchell Auditorium. The ensemble performs at least twice per semester, and repertoire includes masterworks of the string ensemble literature from the Renaissance to the present.

To participate in String Orchestra, register for MUS3214 for either 0 or 1 credit. Once you have registered, you will meet with Dr. Buck for an informal and friendly audition in which you will play a solo or etude and do sight reading. For more information, email Dr. Buck.
