String Ensemble

String Orchestra is open to all students who play violin, viola, cello, or bass. If you have played a string instrument in your high school orchestra, or have equivalent skills, you are welcome to join. You may be asked to play an informal audition for placement purposes.

The ensemble rehearses twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. We prepare two concerts each year and perform in the annual St. Scholastica Christmas concert. We also perform for events on and off campus.

Ensemble courses are offered for 1 credit and count toward the College Fine Arts requirement. String Orchestra also counts toward upper division credits. You may register for String Orchestra as many semesters as you like.
