U.S. News and World Report has named The College of St. Scholastica's online master of education program as one of the nation's best.
The publication rated programs based on four main criteria: Faculty credentials and training; student services and technology; student engagement; and admissions selectivity.
Based on its scores, St. Scholastica's online master of education program was ranked no. 42 of all programs reviewed. The program's ranking has improved each year and jumped several spots from no. 48 last year.
St. Scholastica's 100 percent online master of education degree program is designed for current teachers and other education professionals, and can be completed in two years.
"We appreciate the continuing recognition of the excellence of our program," said Jo Olsen, dean of St. Scholastica's School of Education. "We engage learners to reflect deeply upon their teaching practice to improve student learning and address critical issues in today's schools."
Students work closely with their academic advisor, who offers support from admission to graduation, and they also benefit from a cohort model that allows them to proceed through the program as a group.
"We are thrilled with our recent ranking," said Amy Bergstrom, program director. "This validates the great work of our faculty and staff to ensure our students have a high-quality experience."
