A top college

St. Scholastica has once again been named one of the best colleges in the Midwest, making the list in three key categories in an annual report from U.S. News & World Report.

"We appreciate the recognition of excellence achieved by our faculty in providing a first-rate education in the Catholic Benedictine tradition," said Michael Marsden, Interim Vice President For Academic Affairs at St. Scholastica.

St. Scholastica was ranked no. 35 on the list of the Best Regional Universities for the Midwest region. The College was also ranked at no. 22 on the list of Best Colleges for Veterans in the region. New this year, St. Scholastica was included on the list of Midwest colleges with the best rate of freshman retention. St. Scholastica's average first-year student retention rate is 84 percent.

The list of Best Colleges for Veterans includes schools that are certified for the GI Bill® and participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. New this year, qualifying schools had to place within the top half of their Best Colleges ranking category.
