Choirs to perform touring concert program at home

St. Scholastica's choirs will perform their touring concert program at home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2 in the Mitchell Auditorium.

The "CSS Choirs at Home" concert will feature St. Scholastica's Women's Choir, Men's Choir, Concert Choir, and Bella Voce. Programming will consist of a variety of pieces ranging from Gregorian chant to prolific composers of today. Bella Voce and the Concert Choir will share music they will take on tour throughout the region, including the U.S. premiere of "Spes" by composer Mia Makaroff.

The Men's and Women's Choirs will perform works from far and near, including compositions from local Minnesota composers.

  • Still I Rise: Songs of Struggle and Strength with the women's choirs of St. Scholastica and four guest Minnesota colleges, 3:30 p.m. April 8
  • Equilibrium, 7:30 p.m. April 28

A series of tour stops featuring the Bella Voce and the Concert Choir begins at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11 at the Holy Wisdom Monastery in Middleton, WI followed by a performance at 7 p.m. March 11 at St. Procopius Abbey in Lisle, IL; a performance at 7 p.m. Monday, March 13 in the Sisters of St. Benedict Monastery in Ferdinand, IN; and their final show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at St. Anselms (St. Louis Abbey) in Creve Coeur, MO.
