Health Sciences

Program Facts

  • Desirable option for students interested in health care, but who elect not to pursue a disciplinary degree program.
  • Students work closely with the Dean of the School of Health Sciences in developing a customized instructional plan 
  • Students are strongly encouraged to initiate clinical experiences as part of this program

36 health science/related credits
16 upper-division health science/related

Internship or Clinicals

Clinical experience gained while enrolled in another CSS program may be applied to the Health Sciences Major under certain circumstances. Numerous opportunities exist for internships in health care facilities throughout the Duluth-Superior area. Program staff work closely with students to help identify internship opportunities. 

Careers

Equipped with critical thinking skills and a broad knowledge of health care and human services systems, graduates of this program  have gone on to work in continuing care retirement communities, hospitals, nonprofits and other healthcare facilities. Others have pursued graduate study in such areas as physical therapy, occupational therapy and athletic training.
