The College's reputation and leadership in its health sciences curriculums, particularly in Nursing and Healthcare Informatics and Information Management, along with its regional partnerships with UMD's Medical School and rural providers, allow us to contribute in a number of ways to this transformation. In addition, current Center initiatives and projects illustrate our commitment to being an important player within the industry. These include the ATHENS™ project, several interdisciplinary healthcare leadership courses, and our research in EHR Implementation Best Practices.

The strategic theme of The Center is interdisciplinary, values-based innovation - creating a new role for the College to use its education mission to think ahead and be creative, entrepreneurial, and proactive in finding and executing efficient and effective ways to improve healthcare. Critical process themes for The Center include leveraging our existing College assets and resources, maintaining a business sense for all Center initiatives, and moving at a rapid pace.
