As the healthcare industry evolves, so too should its leaders

Nearly 50 million people live in rural areas of the United States, often drawn by the traditions, lifestyle, and sense of community. Yet many rural areas also face the challenges of chronic health problems and emergencies, restricted access to healthcare and specialties, and cost of services. At the same time, dedicated health care professionals and facilities are confronted with increasing costs, lower reimbursements, staffing issues, changing regulations, and implementation of technology and new information systems. A new range of knowledge and skills are required to meet these challenges and provide the quality healthcare that rural communities need.

Building on a history of healthcare education

Since emerging as a national presence on the healthcare scene in the 1930s, St. Scholastica has earned a reputation for its history of innovation and expertise.  The College's interdisciplinary approach combines the strengths of the School of Health Sciences and the School of Business and Technology.  St. Scholastica faculty and staff are leaders in their professions and provide national thought leadership, consulting services, education and technology solutions designed to prepare future healthcare professionals and advance healthcare practices for the growing demands of the nation's rapidly changing healthcare industry.

Who is this program designed for?

The Online Rural Healthcare MBA at The College of St. Scholastica is designed for healthcare professionals at all levels who serve rural communities, and recognize the need to manage the emerging challenges and changes in the health care system.   As administrators rise from healthcare professions such as medicine, nursing and physical and occupational therapy into leadership positions within business and management, there is an entirely new set of challenges to face.
