Application Checklist - Regular Standing Track
Admission to the MSW degree program is competitive and early application is encouraged.
- Request official transcripts. Transcripts must be in the original sealed envelope from the school, or from a certified electronic official transcript provider such as Docufide, Scrip Safe or National Clearinghouse (email to geoadmin@css.edu). Transcripts required: BA/BS transcript showing degree conferred, any post-baccalaureate transcript, and any transcript with relevant coursework.
GPA: Applicants should have a minimum of 3.0 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) or better on the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework.
Please order early - transcripts can take up to 4-6 weeks to arrive. Mail transcripts for receipt on or before the deadline to:

- References: Applicants must enter the contact information for two professional and/or academic reference forms from people who can address the applicant's abilities and interpersonal skills, potential for graduate education and potential for professional social work practice.
- Professional Statement: Please keep this response to no more than THREE double spaced typed pages. Applicants must upload a well-written professional statement that addresses the following:
- How did you become interested in social work?
- What motivated you to decide to pursue an MSW? If you have trained or worked in another field, what are you reasons for a change?
- Discuss those personal qualities and abilities you feel will be helpful to you in the social work profession. What do you currently see as your strengths and areas of improvement?
- Discuss any significant volunteer and/or work experiences related to social work or human services.
- What are your professional goals and plans in social work? Indicate which fields of practice, client groups, and special social problems interest you and why
- Resume: Applicants will upload a current resume or vitae with their application.
- Interview: Applicants may be asked to interview with the Admissions Committee before a final decision is reached.

- Discuss financing your education with the Financial Aid Office early in the application process by calling (877) 287-8716.
- Upon receipt of all application materials, the application packet will be forwarded to the Admissions Committee for review and the admissions decision.

- Fieldwork Evaluation: Advanced standing applicants are asked to upload a copy of their senior field evaluation. Students that have not completed their senior field placement at the time of application may uplaod a copy of their junior field evaluation.

This tuition rate is in effect for the 2013-2014 academic year. Tuition rate is subject change in subsequent years.
