Student Recipient's Testimonials

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for your involvement in my selection for the Faculty/Staff Circle of Excellence Award. Being awarded this scholarship is a great reminder that hard work truly pays off!

This September I will be heading back to The College of St. Scholastica for the fall semester of my senior year. It's going to be an extremely exciting, yet nerve-wracking experience. I will be graduating in May with degrees in both Marketing and Management. I am eager to begin my job search and embark on my first career after graduation.

I can honestly say that choosing CSS has turned out to be the best decision I could have made coming out of high school. This decision has allowed me to get a fantastic education from a well-respected school, while also giving me the opportunity to play college baseball for one of the most successful programs in the nation. Along the ways I have met some amazing people that I know will continue to be a huge part of my life, even after my career here has concluded.

Once again, thank you so much for selecting me to receive the Faculty/Staff Circle of Excellence Award! I am completely honored to have been awarded this scholarship and this money will be a tremendous help to my family and me. I am incredibly grateful to receive this honor and I will be sure to continue to work hard in order to live up to the name this award.

My name is Nathanial. I am currently attending The College of St. Scholastica, and will be starting my senior year this fall. This coming November, I will be applying to attend graduate school at CSS. The program that I am applying to is the Masters of Occupational Therapy. At this point I am not sure what area of Occupation Therapy I would like to be involved in. I am spending the summer shadowing practicing Occupational Therapists though and hope I find a niche that I enjoy. But I have spent a lot of time thinking this through and this is the field that I want to be in. I feel that it will be very rewarding.

I just wanted to thank you for the $1,000 scholarship that you selected me for. The money is greatly needed and appreciated. I have been working very hard through school and have another three plus years to go. It's nice to know that I have a bit less money to worry about.

Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for your generous gift that is helping me to further my college education. I am a senior Psychology major at CSS and I am also Physical Therapy intended. I am planning on applying to the PT program in the fall. With so much schooling ahead of me, the scholarship I received is a huge help and blessing. Again, thank you so much! Your money and generosity will not be put to waster.

I am writing you in regards to receiving the Faculty/Staff Circle of Excellence Award through The College of St. Scholastica. I want to extend a gracious thank you for continually giving students this opportunity. Although I cannot speak for all students in the past or the future that have and will receive this award, I can speak for myself in saying that without the continued generosity of aid providers-such as you- my educational goals would not be achievable. I am entering my senior year at The College of St. Scholastica and will be graduating in May with a dual degree in both Social Work and Political Systems and I could not be more excited to put these degrees to work. I am an ambitious, driven and optimistic woman who hopes to do a year of volunteering in a non-profit after graduation before pursuing a Master's Degree in Social Work and hopefully someday a Doctorate in Public Policy. My long-term career goals include working in macro social work setting to influence and change social welfare systems for the better. I am confident that my experiences at The College of St. Scholastica have given me the fortitude to go forth and make a lasting impact in the social work profession. Again, I extend my gratitude to you for giving me this opportunity to further my education and go forth into this world prepared to make a difference in the spirit of the Benedictine tradition.

Thank you Elizabeth Simonson for awarding me the Faculty/Staff Circle of Excellence Award! I plan on majoring in Biochemistry and hopefully will also be able to double major in in Math. I will be entering my second year of college this fall, but I am considered a junior academically. I plan on attending medical school after graduating from CSS.

Thank you for you generosity in providing the Faculty/Staff Circle of Excellence Award for students at The College of St. Scholastica! I am honored and grateful that I have been chosen to receive this award, and the financial assistance it provides will help me reach my educational goals.
In the fall, I will be a senior at St. Scholastica, only one academic year away from attaining my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. I am focusing my studies on piano performance and pedagogy, as I love playing the piano and desire to one day maintain a private music studio. I have several students already, and the more I learn myself, the more I love teaching them. At St. Scholastica, I am also involved deeply with the choral program, and as I improve my accompanying and collaboration skills, I am also preparing myself for future work as church pianist or choral accompanist elsewhere. I am a firm believer in the power of music to change lives, and the skills and knowledge I am gaining at CSS will help me to be an advocate for music and the arts in society.

Again, I am immensely grateful for the honor and support provided by this award!

I want to thank you for the ADEP Faculty & Staff Circle of Excellence Award. It means a lot to me, as I am a non-traditional student at The College of St. Scholastica, through the St. Paul campus and I am balancing work with a full-time credit load.

I am working on finishing my degree in Marketing and I hope to complete all the degree requirements by December of 2012, as I am currently a senior in the program. I am employed at Supervalu as a marketing manager, but by completing the degree, it will indeed help me as I work through the ranks.
I am planning on walking in the graduation ceremony in Duluth in May 2013 with my daughter who will be completing her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy. It will be truly a great opportunity to celebrate both of our successes.
