Global Awareness Project

The Global Awareness Project The Global Awareness Project introduces American college students to the inequality in the world in a visual format, challenging them to learn more, and inspiring them to become involved in making the world a better place. The first step of this project is to take the GAP World Tour. Students build this informational map of the world with tokens representing people, resources, debt and wealth. In constructing this world map, students will see the inequality of the world in a visceral way that calls on them to reflect on their own lack of knowledge. The teacher can assign further reading and research related to their class, and together they can explore ways to build a better the world. You are a part of the development of the Global Awareness Project. Teachers, send us suggestions for how you use the GAP in class, questions to ask, and resources to study. Students, tell us about clubs, projects and campaigns you have been involved in that make a difference in the world.
