As the Student Diversity Advocate, I provide support to the campus as a whole, including all clubs and organizations with diverse populations. I serve on the Diversity Committee to promote a shift to Multi-Cultural education and the acceptance of differences in culture, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation that will result in a inclusive community. The role of advocacy is to empower students that would otherwise be voiceless and conflicted without any means of resolution for many issues encountered in higher education. My most important responsibility is to assist every diverse student obtain their goal of graduation, through programs designed to enrich their college experience. From a personal point of view, my services to the students are not an occupation or vocation, but a calling to help transition students into productive citizens who will make a difference in society. There are many people (too numerous to mention) that were very helpful to me as a college student, because of their influence, I can find no better way to return some portion of what I received.
