Policies and Guarantees
All food and beverages must be supplied by the Food Service Department. Exceptions must be approved by the Food Service Director in advance. All menus may be customized.

A menu must be decided at least five (5) business days before your event. All guaranteed numbers of persons or meals must be confirmed three (3) business days before any event. If confirmation is received less than three (3) business days in advance of an event, the estimated count will be charged even if the late guarantee is lower.

The minimum charge will be based on the guaranteed count. If the count exceeds this number, you will be charged on a per person basis. All meals, excluding break services, will be produced and set for 5% above the guaranteed count. Your final count will be determined through plate count.

All prices are subject to change in advance of confirmation. Price confirmation will be given no earlier than three (3) months in advance of the event. Prices listed in this event planning guide are for internal events only.

Prices of Break Services
Include the following amenities for the food table without additional charge:

  • Linen tablecloth.
  • Skirting upon request.
  • Paper cups, plates, napkins, stir sticks, forks, knives, spoons, etc.

If requested, we will supply at no additional charge in Somers Hall:

  • China cups, plates, silverware, etc.
  • Glass punch bowl and silver ladle.

For all other locations, please contact the Food Service Director, x6652 for costs.


Prices of Meals
Whether buffet or served, meals include the following at no additional charge:

  • Wait staff. Wait staff may be unavailable for last minute requests.
  • White linen tablecloths when served in Somers Hall dining areas.
  • Linen napkins.
  • White skirting for all serving tables.
  • Full china, glassware and silverware service.
  • All paper and plastic for a barbecue or very informal event.


Additional Services for Receptions
Contact the Food Service Director at 723-6652 for specific charges if you are interested in the following services:

  • Wait staff for reception service.
  • Bartenders and wait staff for bar service.
  • Full bar set-up including bar, glasses, condiments, alcohol, soda and mineral water.


Additional Services for Meals
Contact the Food Service Director at 723-6652 for specific charges if you are interested in any of the following options:

  • Bud vases or rose bowls.
  • Votive candles.
  • Hurricane lamps.


Other Policies and Charges:

  • Change of location due to inclement weather for outdoor events must be made four (4) hours before the scheduled start time.
  • A $10.00 delivery charge will be billed to any order less than $25.00 per delivery. To avoid the delivery charge, the group can pick up from Somers kitchen and return the break service items to one of the food service locations.
  • A delivery charge of $10.00 will be charged for ice-water-only orders.
  • Damaged linen will be charged to the catered group.
  • Linen tablecloths and table skirting may be rented for your display and/or meeting tables:

54" x 96" white tablecloth-$3.00
81" white square tablecloth-$3.00
16' white table skirting-$8.00
Colored napkins-$ .25

When the College is on break and food service is closed, we are only able to accept the following catering requests:

  • BREAK SERVICES: Includes items such as coffee, juice, soda, bakery, cookies, dessert bars, whole fruit.

The Food Service Department can provide off campus catering.
