Students

Rights and resonsibilities of students for on-campus interviewing.

  1. Be on time for the interview.
  2. Dress appropriately, we have a book on dressing for careers.
  3. Bring a resume and any other information required by the employer.
  4. Career Services has resources on interview skills available to you: videos, books, mock interviews.
  5. Research the company.
  6. If you must cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance by contacting Career Services.
  7. Remember that you are representing the college as well as yourself.
  8. Follow all deadline dates and requirements of the on-campus interview process.

Directions for scheduling an interview:
  1. Contact the Career Services Administrative Assistant in Tower 2150 (xt. 6085) to look at the qualifications for the position and see if you meet those qualifications.
  2. Sign up for an interview time slot.
  3. Prepare a resume. Register on JobSpace and upload your resume onto that site.
  4. If you wish, schedule a time to do a videotaped mock interview with one of the career counselors and/or watch one of the interviewing skills videos in Career Services. There are also several books in Career Services you can check out in order to improve your interviewing skills.
