What is orientation? Orientation is a chance to get to know The College of St. Scholastica and the surrounding area of Duluth. You will take academic assessments, register for classes with the help of current students, meet your faculty advisor, meet CSS President Dr. Goodwin, and meet new friends - both first year and returning students.
When is Orientation? Currently, the fall transfer orientation dates are as follows:
May 20, 2008
June 10, 2008
How do I register for Orientation? You will receive a letter after you have been accepted explaining how and where to sign up for orientation.
Do I have to attend an Orientation session? No, however, it is highly recommended for Transfer Students to attend an Orientation. It is a great way to gain knowledge about the college, the faculty, and future peers.
What do I need to bring to Orientation? You should bring your transcripts if not yet sent to the college, and enrollment fees if you have not already paid them.
Do I have to pay for Orientation? No, there is no charge for you to attend Orientation. However, it is important that you have paid your $100 enrollment fee prior to or at Orientation.
Is there an Orientation program for family and friends? Yes, family and friends are always welcome to sit in on the session with the incoming student.
What if I cannot attend any of the scheduled Orientation sessions? You should make every possible effort to attend one of the scheduled sessions. If circumstances prevent your attendance at any of the sessions, please contact the Orientation Department immediately.
Are there accommodations for students with special needs? Yes. Please inform us of the accommodations you may need before your scheduled session.
Who do I contact if I still have questions? Email the Orienation staff at orientation@css.edu or call 1-800-249-6412.
