Your Advisor's Role in Academic Advising:

• Assists students to ensure academic success
• Reviews program planning with students
• Works with students to address academic-related issues
• Ensure students maintain an appropriate GPA
• Assists students with the application to major at 60 credits
• Assists students with the application to graduate 4 months before graduation

Your Role in the Learning Process:

• Assume responsibility of your academic journey
• Monitor, follow, and update your program plan
• Review the year-long tentative term schedule
• Web register each term by the deadline
• Set up regular appointments with advisor to review your academic plan
• Attend classes and complete all required coursework
• Communicate with your advisor/instructor as soon as you have questions or concerns
• Check your CSS email account daily, or forward your CSS emails to an address you do check daily
• Respond to requests from CSS staff and faculty in a timely manner (filling out surveys, handing in financial aid paperwork, etc.)
• Contact your advisor if you add or drop a class, take a leave of absence, or decide to take classes at another extended site
• Make sure that you have your textbooks for the first night of classes
• Follow college policies
