
The College of St. Scholastica's Upward Bound Math and Science Program (UBMS) is a federally-funded TRiO program designed to provide the motivation and skill necessary to succeed in post-secondary education. UBMS is for 52 students with the ability to achieve in math and science. CSS UBMS students are from families below 150% of poverty and would be the first generation in their family to attend college. The UBMS Program has been hosted by The College of St. Scholastica since 1995.

Upward Bound Math Science is a Federal TRIO Program. It is an educational opportunity outreach program designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. UBMS is one of six TRIO outreach and support program targeted to serve and assist low-income, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs.
