Welcome!
My name is Jeanne Thompson, and I am an alum of the College, a member of the College Advancement staff, and a Saints parent. My daughter Amanda is a 2006 graduate, and son Luke is a 2009 graduate.
It is because of these relationships I have with St. Scholastica that I fully understand how vital the role our parents play in the lives of our students. The need for a strong partnership in our communication and outreach efforts is vital.
This past year I was charged with establishing a CSS Parents Advisory Council. This group will consist of current parents interested in and dedicated to advising the College in our communication efforts, career-internship-community service efforts, fundraising efforts, as well as increasing participation in parent and family activities.
We currently have 16 parent members who have worked very thoughtfully with me this year in determining our "first order of business" as well as how we want to grow.
If you are interested in reading minutes from our October 4, 2008; January 17, 2009; March 14, 2009; August 1, 2009; or September 9, 2009; meetings, please click on the date.
We have begun an e-mail campaign to increase the number of parents we can communicate with electronically. Parents who submit their e-mail address to the College will receive monthly E-News from Student Affairs, and - coming soon - quarterly e-communications from the Parents Advisory Council - from parents to parents. If you have not yet provided your e-mail address to the College - please click on the blue button at the top of this page.
If you are interested in serving on our Parents Advisory Council, please click on biography form, complete the form and e-mail or mail to me. My contact information is at the bottom of the form.
If you prefer to contact me direct - call 218-723-6634 or e-mail me at jthompso@css.edu and I will answer any questions you have as well as mail you all the necessary information.
When your student becomes a "Saint," you and your family join our College family as well. I look forward to updating you on the progress of our Parents Advisory Council.
