The College of St. Scholastica

Foundation and Government

The Foundation and Government Relations (FGR) Office

The Foundation and Government Relations (FGR) Office is responsible for managing the College's relationships with private foundations and government agencies. Our goal is to secure grant support in order to maximize educational opportunities for the St. Scholastica community and regional audiences. The College receives between $3 and $4 million in grants annually.

In addition to securing grants for general operating support of the College, the FGR office works with faculty, staff, and students to find funding for new programs, academic offerings, special projects, and research. We encourage you to contact a member of the FGR office if you have a project for which you may need grant support.

The FGR Office provides the following assistance to St. Scholastica faculty and staff:
  • Researching foundation, corporate,
    and government funding sources;
  • Disseminating information on proposal guidelines and deadlines;
  • Maintaining a lending library of grant seeking resources;
  • Discussing ideas for grant-funded projects and suggesting appropriate funding sources;
  • Developing reasonable timelines for proposal and report preparation;
  • Sending reminders regarding reporting deadlines;
  • Reviewing, commenting on, and editing grant proposals and reports;
  • Assisting with budget development;
  • Facilitating the submission of all proposals and reports;
  • Drafting presidential cover letters; and
  • Sharing information with the College community on grants received.

For those projects deemed by the President's Staff to be major College priorities, the FGR Office will assume a more significant role throughout the proposal development and grant stewardship process.

We look forward to working with you on grant-related projects. Please be sure to give us a call to discuss your ideas!

Please Note: All proposals submitted must first be cleared by the Foundation and Government Relations office.
