The college uses Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition to protect campus computers from malware. It is strongly recommended that all students use anti-virus software to protect their computer as well.

Microsoft provides a free and very good anti-virus software program called Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows based computers.

 It is important to keep the virus definitions up to date in order for the program to be effective. A "virus definition" is a "fingerprint" that antivirus software uses to detect viruses.

Make sure you uninstall any existing anti-virus program before installing Microsoft Security Essentials.
