The College of St. Scholastica is working to create initiatives, policies, and programs that promote gender equity.
This page is a way for the Violence Intervention and Prevention Project to share our work with the greater community.
In November 2012, the College of St. Scholastica received a 3 year grant from the Office on Violence Against Women and the Department of Justice to work to create a campus free of sexual and domestic violence. With the funding, CSS hired Lexie Generous as the Safe Campus Intervention Coordinator. In February 2013, Kailee Ogden, our VIP Intern was hired.
Since November, the VIP Project Staff has:
Created our Community Coordinated Response Teams; Primary Prevention/Education Team & Intervention Team
Piloted our BEST (Be Equal Safe & Trustworthy) Party Model keynotes to select student, staff, and faculty group with the help of our partners
Provided training to student leaders at COR Leadership Day
Attended two national Office on Violence against Women Campus Institute Conferences in December and February. We will be attending our third conference in June.
Provided training to Student Affairs staff members about sexual assault
Provided training to our Sexual Assault Investigation & Appeals Team (link to Reporting Options & Resources Page)
Worked on updating our policies and procedures regarding sexual assault, sexual violence, domestic/dating/intimate partner violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. (Link to Policies)
