Cessation Services
Throughout the 2011-2012 school year, students, faculty and staff will have one on one tobacco cessation counseling/coaching available at no cost. For further information you may contact Tad Sears at 218-723-6017 or tsears@css.edu.
Duluth Student Tobacco Cessation Services:
- From September 7 through November 11 students may receive tobacco cessation services from Rachel Gilbertson. To schedule an appointment with Rachel call (218) 213-0161 or e-mail cssquitcoach@gmail.com. The best times to meet with Rachel will be on Fridays between 8 a.m - 4 p.m., however she is available at some other times as well
- Beginning November 14 students will receive tobacco cessation services from Julie Zaruba, CSS's new Wellness Coordinator. To schedule an appointment with Julie call (218) 625-4914 or e-mail jzarubafounta@css.edu.
Duluth Faculty/Staff Tobacco Cessation Services:
- Beginning September 1 faculty and staff on the Duluth campus may receive tobacco cessation services from Rachel Gilbertson. To schedule an appointment with Rachel call (218) 213-0161 or e-mail cssquitcoach@gmail.com. The best times to meet with Rachel are on Fridays between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., however she is available at some other times as well. This service will be available to faculty and staff on the Duluth campus throughout the 2011-12 academic year.
- Beginning in June, 2012, cessation services will only be available in the community (without the convenience of on campus accessibility) through the Essentia Health Tobacco Free Service. Counselors at the Essentia Health Tobacco Free Service can offer face-to-face counseling, nicotine replacement therapy, personal plans for quitting, research-based tips and advice, and on-going support. All of the services are provided free of charge.
Brainerd/Rochester/St. Cloud/St. Paul Tobacco Cessation Services:
Students, faculty and staff at our extended campuses can receive tobacco cessation services through the Quit Plan program. Quit Plan offers phone and web services that can be used individually or together to create a personalized plan to quit. Benefits include:
- Free phone-based counseling to help you quit tobacco
- The ability to talk to a live Quit Coach
- Help designing a personalized plan to quit
- Ongoing support throughout your quit process
- Free patches, gum or lozenges*
- Free web-based counseling to help you quit tobacco
- The ability to build your own personalized plan online
- Tools to track your progress
- Connect with others online who are in the quitting process
- Access to an online community of quitters
