Dining Dollars

What are Dining Dollars?

Dining Dollars are the same as having cash in your pocket, but better because Student Dining Dollars are tax exempt when making a purchase.  Current tax on cash sales in food service is 9.625%.  Dining Dollars are part of all meal plans.  Students who are not residents of Somers Hall may choose to deposit money into a Dining Dollars account instead of purchasing a meal plan. This is done in the OneStop at the cashier's desk located on the first floor of Tower Hall. Minimum deposit is $20.  Dining Dollars are accessible through your ID card. All Dining Dollars must be use by the end of each semester; they will not carry over to the following semester. For Fall semester, they end on December 31, for Spring semester they end on May 15.

Dining Dollars may be used in The Greenview, Storm's Den, Beakers Coffee Shop and in vending.  When Dining Dollars are used in The Greenview, it is at a discounted rate. Click this link to find out more about The Greenview menu and rates.
