Federal Perkins Loan

All students borrowing through the federal Perkins loan program at The College of St. Scholastica, must complete step #1. Only students packaged with the federal Perkins loan are eligible to apply for the loan.

Step #1: Accept your federal Perkins loan on Banner Web

For incoming students, you must be registered for an orientation session before you can log onto Banner Web. For transfer students, you must have completed the Admissions tutorial before you can log onto Banner Web.

* Sign in to Banner Web Banner Web Tutorial
* Click on Student Services and Financial Aid
* Click on Financial Aid
* Click on Award
* Click on Award for Aid Year
* Click on Accept Award Offer
* To accept the full amount, click accept on the drop down box next to the loan.
* To accept a lesser amount, click on the accept box and enter a dollar amount in the Accept Partial Amount box
* Click on Submit Decision

If you are a FIRST time borrower of the Federal Perkins Loan at The College of St. Scholastica, you must ALSO complete steps #2 &3.

Step #2: Complete Loan Entrance Counseling.

• All first time borrowers at CSS must complete the Perkins loan entrance counseling before any loan funds can be released to your student account.

Step #3: Complete the Master Promissory Note.

• Please keep in mind that some computers have security settings that block pop up windows. If you browse to this website and see a blank white screen, you may opt to temporarily accept the pop up window and complete the Master Promissory Note.

• Have your student FAFSA PIN ready, as you will be asked to input this information to verify your identity. If you have forgotten your FAFSA PIN, go to the FAFSA site and re-establish this information.
