Assault/Fight

1. If you witness or arealerted to an assault or fight on campus, call 9-1-1immediately and provide the following information:

   • Your name

   • Your location

   • Telephone number from where you are calling

   • Location of the assault or fight (inside a building oroutside)

   • Number of persons involved

   • Location of the incident

   • Number of injuries

   • Location of injured

2. Ensure the safety of students, staff and faculty.

3. If possible, address the combatants by name and use adistraction to defuse the situation.

4. Control the scene and demand that the combatants stop.

5. Clear onlookers.

6. Care for the injured until the Duluth Police Departmentand paramedics arrive.

7. Seal off the area where the assault took place.
