Confidentiality

Accommodations as approved by the Disability Resource Center, are governed by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) and FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) privacy rules.

RECORDS

A confidential record is maintained with access restricted to DRC staff.  Information is not to be released without a student's written consent.  Faculty will only be notified of the accommodations issued, not the disability or diagnosis.  Accommodations are not part of the academic record.
