SAL Colloquium: Ryan VineFriday, April 9 3:40-4:40pmTower Hall 4119 Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments provided. Shiv: A New Collection of Poems by Ryan Vine Shiv was a finalist for the May Swenson Poetry Award from Utah State University Press. Ryan Vine's chapbook, Distant Engines, received a 2005 Weldon Kees Award from Backwaters Press. By September 2006, Distant Engines made its way onto The Poetry Foundation's list of contemporary best sellers. Ryan's poems have appeared in many literary journals and magazines, and have twice been read by Garrison Keillor on The Writer's Almanac. He has recent work in The Cortland Review and The American Poetry Review, and his criticism appears regularly in the Star Tribune. He is assistant professor of English at The College of St. Scholastica and the Associate Director of the College's Honors Program. This poetry reading is part of the School of Arts and Letters Colloquium. This monthly lecture series provides visibility to the diverse research projects performed by SAL faculty at CSS. |
