Digitized Scriptorium and Cable student newspapers

Search the College Archives to view the Scriptorium from 1932 to 1969 and the Cable student newspaper from 1977 to 2001. Please review system requirements carefully before entering the database, as there is certain computer software and hardware to run the database properly.

Internet Access

The College of St. Scholastica has partnered with CP Telcom to offer special Internet access pricing for St. Scholastica alumni in designated areas. CP Telecom is owned by Chad Braadfladt and Mary McClernon, St. Scholastica class of '85.

Alums can use items in-house at the College Library and check out up to five St. Scholastica Library book items at a time with no annual fee. Please bring a photo ID to the Library to help with the check out process.

Lifelong Learning Opportunities

There is something for every one of our Saints alums looking for ongoing learning opportunities. Offerings include Emeritus College for all those interested in scholarly courses, The Alworth Center for Peace and Justice which provides programming designed to bridge social and political barriers, productions from the St. Scholastica Theatre, and offerings at the Mitchell Auditorium.

Outdoor Equipment Rental

The College of St. Scholastica is located in one of the most beautiful, awe inspiring parts of the world, and now you can rent equipment that will help you get out and explore it! As alumni, you can take advantage of equipment rental through the Outdoor PURSUIT! Program.

All types of outdoor equipment is available for rent including tents, sleeping bags, packs, canoes, cook sets, rain gear, skis and snowshoes. Be sure to bring a photo ID to the Port Information Desk when you are ready to check out the equipment. Contact the Port Information Desk at (218) 723-6154 for price list and equipment available.

Scholarships and Discounts

Take advantage of the Alumni Referral Scholarship to help a prospective student attend St. Scholastica. Feel free to contact Alumni Relations for more details on the Alumni Referral Scholarship. There are also scholarships available for children of alumni and nieces and nephews of childless alumni. The Sister Timothy Kirby Scholarship is available for alumni returning to St. Scholastica to pursue master's degrees. For more details on these scholarships, please contact Financial Aid.

Alums with a master's degree from St. Scholastica can apply for a Graduate Studies tuition discount for continuing coursework. To learn more about this opportunity, please contact Graduate Studies.

VISA CardJust imagine if every time you used your VISA charge card a percentage of the charge was donated to the Alumni Scholarship fund at The College of St. Scholastica. Now it is possible with The College of St. Scholastica VISA card through Bank of America.

Here's the scoop: when you open a St. Scholastica account, the issuing bank will contribute funds to help support our programs. Yes, you buy what you normally buy, and pay what you normally pay. But when you do it with our VISA, you will be supporting our College - yet you pay nothing extra. Plus there's no annual fee so it's easy for you to switch to this VISA.

The new stream of income generated by our alumni opening these VISA accounts could channel extra dollars into our most important projects over the next decade. To date, the proceeds were used to establish a $20,000 endowed professorship, and are now being used to enhance the Alumni Scholarship fund.

Wellness Center Membership

St. Scholastica alums are eligible for individual membership at the Duluth campus's new Burns Wellness Center. The 63,000-square-foot Wellness Center is a field house complex featuring an indoor 200 meter running track, four multipurpose courts, a free weight room, an aerobic dance room, a cardiovascular fitness mezzanine overlooking the track, a 40 foot climbing wall with a bouldering field, and new locker rooms.
