• Four to five students live in each of the holiday cottages.
• The interiors are comfortable and fully furnished.
• A long, beautiful beach is only about a mile's walk from the cottages.
• Each year students participate in the St. Patrick's Day Parade
• which proceeds down the streets of Louisburgh and offers
• a chance to meet some unusual characters.

Nearby sights

• Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain, where in 441 St. Patrick spent the 40 days of Lent fasting and praying, is only a short distance from Louisburgh.
• The climb up Croagh Patrick is steep, but the view from the top is worth it.
• The bustling town of Westport is about a half hour away from Louisburgh.
• A short drive beyond brings one to Rockfleet, a castle owned by Granuaile, Grace O'Malley, the Pirate Queen of Mayo.

Trips

• The program's trips cover most of the Republic of Ireland, offering a chance to see such sights as Kylemore Abbey,
• the legendary beehive huts of the West,
• and Blarney Castle, home of the Blarney Stone
• Round towers are a common sight throughout Ireland.
• There is also a trip to Dublin, with its architecture
  and street artists.
