Admission Information for the May 2008 Post Baccalaureate Nursing Cohort
The Post Baccalaureate Nursing Certificate program is open to students who have already completed a baccalaureate degree at an accredited institution. To be considered for the 2008 program, students must apply to the program and submit required materials. Admission is competitive and is based on all of the following:
- Completed Baccalaureate degree from accredited institution
- Complete Application. See deadlines below.
November 15, 2007 - preceding the start of the program in May:
- Submission of Program Application Materials (your application will not be considered complete if any of the following materials are missing).
1. Application (Do not submit the Online Application for the College)
2. Plan of Study Worksheet
3. Personal Goal Statement
4. Two completed Recommendation Forms (in sealed envelopes)
5. Official Transcripts - proof of baccalaureate degree and pre-requisite courses (grade B or better).
January 15, 2008 - preceding the start of the coursework in May 2008:
Submission of evidence of completion of three of the following six pre-requisite courses with a B or higher. All six pre-requisites must be completed before starting coursework in May 2007.
Developmental Psychology
General Chemistry (no lab required)
Human Anatomy and Physiology (6-8 credits)
Microbiology
Nutrition
Statistics (descriptive and inferential)
*All prerequisite courses must be completed within the past 10 years of the anticipated term of entry into the program. CLEP credits will be accepted for all pre-requisite courses if a CLEP exam is available. (Official documentation must be provided).
- Photocopy of Current CPR certificate with expiration date (must be American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider CPR course - Adults, Children and Infants)
- Photocopy of CNA/NA-R registration and proof of course completion
- Nursing Physical Examination form (submitted to Health Services)
Only those applications that are complete and received by the PBN Office by the deadline will be reviewed for admission. Applications will not be reviewed until at least three of the six pre-requisites are completed. Final selections are determined based upon evaluation of a completed Baccaluareate degree from an accredited institution and the required essay and recommendations.
Students will be notified by February 1st of acceptance to the program. A deposit fee of $750 is due upon acceptance into the program.
