- Co-founder of the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP); the professional organization of exercise physiologists.
- Member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Exercise Physiologists.
- Chair, ASEP Board of Certification; the Board that oversees the "Exercise Physiologist Certified (EPC) exam.
- One of 67 Board Certified Exercise Physiologists in the United States.
- Chair, ASEP Board of Accreditation; the Board that governs the accreditation of colleges and universities that seek undergraduate accreditation of the exercise physiology programs.
- Founder of the electronic journal entitled "Journal of Exercise Physiology-online" - a research journal for exercise physiologists.
- Founder of the electronic journal entitled "Professionalization of Exercise Physiology-online" - the only such journal like it in the world to discuss the professionalization of exercise physiology.
