Overview

The famous management thinker Peter Drucker once wrote, "Management is about human beings. Its task is to make people capable of joint performance, to make their strengths effective and their weaknesses irrelevant." Here at The College of St. Scholastica, we have a very similar philosophy.

Our programs seek to develop students who can analyze and resolve the practical human challenges that often block an organization's growth and development. Our view is that management is a practice, much like medicine or the law, that can be studied and mastered. Our students learn both the theoretical disciplines that all business colleges offer and also how to apply that expertise in the real world.

Our undergraduate majors provides students with strong fundamental understandings of general management, marketing, accounting, applied economics, and organizational behavior. Our graduate program focuses on developing leaders who are able to understand and manage change initiatives within their organizations, professions, and communities. The foundation for all of our programs is the CSS academic tradition, ethical decision making and an appreciation for the global environment in which we live and work.
