William Burns, Esq.
Mr. Burns is a partner at the Duluth law firm of Hanft Fride. He practices in the area of business and commercial law, representing large and small businesses, banks, real estate developers, educational institutions and medical specialists. Mr. Burns received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor Degrees, both with honors, from the University of Michigan. He was a member of the Order of the Coif, Assistant Editor of the Michigan Law Review, and Research Assistant for Professor Arthur R. Miller. Mr. Burns is a member of the Minnesota Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Mr. Burns is listed in "Best Lawyers in America" and has been named a "Super Lawyer" by his peers in Minnesota Law and Politics annual surveys. He has also received the Pro Bono Publico Award from the Minnesota State Bar Association. Mr. Burns has served as a president of Legal Aid of Northeastern Minnesota, as a member of the Board of Directors of Legal Assistance of Minnesota, as Board Chair of the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and of the College of St. Scholastica, where he is also a Trustee. He is also a former United Way chairman and former Chair of the Spirit Mountain Recreation Area.
