LIS is an interdisciplinary language-based program that provides students with a broad background in contemporary international affairs and the skills necessary to participate effectively in the global community. Majors and minors are encouraged to incorporate an internship abroad into their programs.
The LIS Department offers a major in LIS and minors in LIS and World Languages. Students who are proficient in one language are encouraged to expand their language base by adding a second.

A background in international studies prepares students for a host of career options. Career opportunities include work with state and federal government agencies, university programs, corporations or nonprofit organizations.
