Why did you choose St. Scholastica?

Besides the reputable science department, I chose it because it's a perfectly-sized campus full of very welcoming and helpful people.

Why did you choose your major?

I've always loved science classes, especially those involving the study of life. Most importantly, the classes I will take will give me the knowledge I need in order to achieve my career goals.

Do you particiapte in any extracurricular activities; if so, why?

I'm in the cross country team because I really enjoy running. My teammates are awesome and a lot of fun to be around. Joining the team is one of the best decisions I've made since I was accepted here. I'm also a clarinetist in the concert band. I love to play the clarinet and by joining the band, I've improved and learned a lot. I've also made some good friends. I joined Pre-Med club, too. It's been very informative and has helped me start to organize and prepare for medical school.

What are your post-graduation plans or goals?

I plan to attend medical school somewhere and become a doctor. I'm not exactly sure on all of the details yet, but I think I would like to specialize.

Does the Catholic Benedictine identity of St. Scholastica mean anything to you? If so, what? Or, how does it have meaning for you?

To me, the Catholic Benedictine identity is very important. The college's Benedictine values (community, hospitality, respect, stewardship, and love of learning) are what set it apart from many others. I think they prepare CSS students for success by helping them become the best they can be.

Advice for prospective students?

Join a club, sport, or some sort of activity because it's the easiest way to make friends who share similar interests as you, and it's fun!
