What is your field of expertise, and what makes you interested in this field?

Ecology/Environmental science and plants. I love Biology that focuses on whole organisms and ecosystems. Biodiversity and current threats to it, seems like such an important area of biological sciences that it is hard not to be interested in it!

Can you briefly introduce the academic program (or department) you are in to our prospective students?

The Biology department has wonderful offerings for those interested in the science of living things! There is a wide range of courses from human biology to microbiology, molecular cell biology, plant taxonomy, ecology and more.

What distinguishes St. Scholastica/your program from other good colleges and universities?

Faculty in all programs at St. Scholastica give students a great deal of personal attention. The science faculty have a very "open door" policy. Students are not just a number in a crowd, but individuals we get to know well.

What do you like best about St. Scholastica?

The sense of community and the friendliness of faculty, staff and students. What a great place to learn!
