Mathematics major graduates should be able to:
1. Demonstrate the mathematical knowledge and skills in an undergraduate math program consistent with recommendations of the Mathematics Association of America.
2. Communicate mathematical ideas and concepts correctly and clearly both in oral and written forms using mathematical structures, terminology and symbolic representations.
3. Demonstrate competency in mathematical reasoning and apply mathematical knowledge to other disciplines and to solve real world problems in their careers.
4. Use a variety of professional literature resources, and determine when and how to apply technology appropriately.
5. Demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of the history and philosophy of mathematics and its impact on civilization.
6. Prepare and undertake scholarly investigations and activities, and take responsibilities for continuing their own learning.
