I send greetings from Theta Xi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, located at the School of Nursing at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Our chapter is one of over 400 chapters located on college campuses around the world. Our chapter members carry out the mission (to support the learning, knowledge and professional development of nurses committed to make a difference in health worldwide) and vision (to create a global community of nurses who lead in using knowledge, scholarship, service and learning to improve the health of the world’s people).
Theta Xi Chapter is working to increase involvement of its members. You are welcome to attend monthly board meetings (held on the second Wednesday of the month at 5PM at the College of St. Scholastica) or join us in our fund raising efforts.
Induction occurs twice yearly in our chapter, the fall induction focuses on traditional undergraduate students and community nurse leaders and spring induction focuses on post baccalaureate and RN/BS students, as well as community nurse leaders. A research forum is held in the spring every year.
Theta Xi offers two $500 scholarships to students currently enrolled in the undergraduate or graduate programs of the School of Nursing. A research grant of $500 is also available to Theta Xi members.
Please join us to help make a difference in people’s lives, both locally and around the world.
Sincerely,
Sue Hyndman, President
Theta Xi Chapter (2008-2010)
