RWJF New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program
The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) is pleased to be awarded for asecond year, funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program. This groundbreaking national initiative, launched by RWJF and the American Association of Celleges of Nursing (AACN) in 2008, aims to help alleviate the nation's nursing shortage by dramatically expanding the pipeline of students in accelerated nursing programs. CSS received a grant of $60,000 and will award $10,000 scholarships to qualified students beginning the program in May 2010. Applications for the RWJF New Careers in Nursing Scholarship will be available starting September 1, 2009 and accepted through October 30, 2009. Eligibility
Students who plan to enter the May 2010 Post Baccalaureate Nursing Certificate Program Cohort and meet one or more of the following criteria:
*Applicant is from a group that is underrepersented in nursing (ethnic or racial minority group, men).
*Applicant is from an economically disadvantaged background as dertermined by HRSA.
