Admission Information for the May 2010 Post Baccalaureate Nursing Cohort

Applications for the May 2010 cohort will be accepted September 1 - October 30, 2009.  Applications that are complete and received by the Post Baccalaureate Nursing Office by Friday Janurary 22, 2010 will be reviewed for admission based on space available in the 2010 cohort.   Final selections will be determined based upon evaluation of Baccalaureate degree completed from an accredited institution, evaluation of pre-requisite grades, goal statement, and possible interview. Preference will be given based on number of pre-requisites completed at time of application.

Submit to the Post Baccalaureate Program Administrative Assistant in one large envelope:

  1. Application (Do not submit the online application for the College)
  2. Plan of Study Worksheet
  3. Current Resume or Curriculum Vitae
  4. Personal Goal Statement
  5. Two completed Recommendation Forms (in sealed envelopes) - minimum of one from an employer or professor.
  6. Photocopy of current CPR certificate with expiration date (must be American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR course or equivalent).
  7. Photocopy of CNA/NA-R registration and proof of course completion.

Submit to Transfer Admissions Office

  • Official Transcripts - Proof of Baccalaureate degree and prerequisite courses completed at time of application with a grade of "B" or better. If courses are taken at The College of St. Scholastica they must be completed with a grade of "C" or better. Have official transcripts sent directly to the Transfer Admissions Office. Preference will be given based on number of pre-requisites completed at time of application.

Pre-requisite Courses
Lifespan Developmental Psychology
General Chemistry (no lab required)
Human Anatomy and Physiology (6-8 credits)
Microbiology
Nutrition
Pathophysiology (3000-4000 level course required)
Statistics (descriptive and inferential)

*All pre-requisite courses must be completed within 10 years of the anticipated term of entry into the program and have a grade of "B" or better. If taken at CSS, courses need to have a grade of "C" or better. CLEP credits will be accepted for all pre-requisite courses if a CLEP exam is available. (Official documentation must be provided.)

Submit to Student Health Services
