MENTUR Project

Pre-Nursing majors in the MENTUR Project will participate in activities such as academic advising, tutoring, test preparation among other activities. Nursing majors, RN/BA and Post Baccalaureate students are provided additional support from MENTUR staff, advisors, and peers with the goals to assist in successful completion of the baccalaureate degree including small group sessions, workshops, job shadowing, review sessions and mock tests.

Pre Nursing Major Activities
Pre-nursing freshman and sophomore students who participate in the MENTUR Project may be eligible for stipend awards. Pre-nursing students attending Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, Lake Superior College and Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibway Community College are also eligible.

All students eligible for the MENTUR Project are eligible for:

• Academic advising
• Tutoring
• Financial Aid and Admissions counseling
• Test preparation
• Nursing career presentations and information

Nursing Major, RN to Baccalaureate and Post Baccalaureate Activities
Nursing Major, RN to Baccalaureate and Post Baccalaureate students who participate in the MENTUR Project may be eligible for scholarship awards.

All students eligible for the MENTUR Project are eligible for:

• A bridge program offered immediately before students enter their first nursing course. The focus of this program is to review math and improve skills in writing, time management, study habits, technology and test taking. Students will also have an opportunity to tour clinical settings.
• Orientation programs for each new cohort
• Individualized academic advising each semester
• Academic support - monthly meetings to address areas of need
• Tutoring
• Small group sessions
• College success workshops
• Job shadowing, mentoring in clinical settings
• Test preparation
• Review sessions
• Mock tests
