The Health Sciences Division major includes three choices.
- The School of Health Sciences (HSC) concentration is intended for the student who has an interest in healthcare or health sciences, but does not fulfill the requirements for a specific professional program within the School. This major requires 36 total credits earned in the health sciences fields, with 16 of those credits being at the upper division level in the same health sciences fields. (Students would still need to earn a total of 128 semester credits, complete all General Education requirements and earn a total of 42 upper division credits.)
This major must be approved by the Dean, School of Health Sciences. Students are required to submit a plan, including learning objectives, developed in consultation with the Dean. Students earn a Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences.
There is no Health Sciences minor.
- The second option is for students who enter the Occupational Therapy Program. The Occupational Therapy concentration requires admission to the Occupational Therapy Program and satisfactory completion of the first year of the professional program. See the Occupational Therapy Program description for further details.
- The third option is for students who enter the Physical Therapy Program. The Physical Therapy concentration requires admission to the Physical Therapy Program and satisfactory completion of the first year of the professional program. See the Physical Therapy Program description for further details. This option will end for physical therapy intended students entering The College in Fall 2009.
