Why did you choose St. Scholastica?

I chose St. Scholastica because of the great health field that they offer. The Admissions Department at St. Scholastica was more helpful than other campuses in making sure I had the information that I needed and my questions answered. After visiting St. Scholastica a couple of times it felt like the right fit for me.

Why did you choose your major?

I choose Occupational Therapy because I enjoy helping and being with people. Occupational Therapy allows me to help others make their lives easier and more enjoyable. The human body is fascinating and  the question of why things work the way they do can be explored through OT.

What are your post-graduation plans or goals?

After college I hope to use my degree as an Occupational Therapist to work in the field of pediatrics or in a neonatal unit. I love working with kids and want to help them be better able to participate in everyday activities.

What's your favorite class? And who is your favorite professor?

My favorite class was my Group Culture Dignatas class. Steve Lyons was the professor and during every class we were able to have open, honest discussions about what was brought up in class. I learned a lot about the College and how others interact. Steve created an open environment that allowed for a fun class.

How do you have fun in Duluth?

In Duluth I enjoy going to different concerts and music events as well as exploring all of the parks and hiking trails. Duluth is a great place to hike, snowshoe, ski and watch the lake.

Advice for prospective students?

I advise prospective students to do what they want; don't pick your pathway because it is what someone else wants you to do. Get involved on campus in many activities. Keep your mind open to new ideas and thoughts. Don't worry about making friends; it will happen.
